​Ballooning costs, a loss of jobs, and cuts
to food programs will mean
New Mexicans go to bed hungry.

Here are the facts:

Many New Mexico households struggle to put food on the table. The most recent data show in 2023: 12.9% of households were “food insecure,” meaning that their access to adequate food is limited by a lack of money and other resources. Even though one in four kids (and one in five adults) in NM rely on SNAP, not to mention farmers and grocery stores, the Trump administration is dismantling the SNAP program and at the same time slashing funds for food banks

     
Besides hurting the hungry, cuts to SNAP benefits hurts grocery stores; cuts to food banks hurts farmers
